You may have seen status updates from your friends that spread the word about the game Candy Crush... don't fall for it -- many are calling it the most addictive online game ever! The game is a hit with women in their 30's and 40's. "I played it for 10 hours over the weekend," said a working mother of one.
Over 700 million games of Candy Crush are played each day, and it's getting expensive for many players. Players are buying virtual game "boosters" such as a candy hammer for around a buck. This is translating into major cash for the game's maker -- an estimated $2-million a year.
What's so appealing about Candy Crush? The maker says it's easy to play, no shooting, and requires 100% of your attention. The perfect game for busy women who want a break.
But some are taking more than a break with the game. Jenni Weaver, a 40-year old mom, says the game has become a real problem. She plays it 8 hours a day and "housework has gone to pot." She admits she's even been late to pick up her child at school because of the game...
Can anyone relate? Had this game, or any other game, taken over your life?
