As someone who is an avid supporter of wigs, weaves, extensions, clip-ons and whatever hair necessities, I can’t help but to roll my eyes over the craze regarding Beyoncé’s latest “chop.” So I’m sure you can image the face I made when the internet blew up with pictures of Beyoncé rocking a bob while out with her family.

Even she looks like she is completely over this. The fact hair is headlining news just makes me shake my head. Here are a few reasons why:
- Let’s be real people, the wonders of weave provide mind blowing illusions. A woman can do almost the impossible with a good set of extensions or a wig. Could Beyoncé have cut off her hair? Absolutely, but let’s not act like this woman is a stranger to adding a few additional tracks. So honestly there is absolutely no telling. You would be surprised what you can do with wigs. Ask Cher.
- Beyoncé is not the first celebrity to go short. There have been a plethora of female celebrities who have decided to make that big chop before Queen B. It’s just another trend like pencil skirts and crop tops….that is all.
- Women have been doing it for years. I don’t quite understand why so many women are shell-shocked by Beyoncé’s decision to go short. Women have been changing lengths on their hair for years. Let’s stop acting like this is innovative.
- Let’s all remember Beyoncé is a human. If Beyoncé were to play a simple game of chess or change manicurist, it would be news breaking. She bleeds and breathes just like we do. So if one day Beyoncé decided to switch back to her trademark golden locs it shouldn’t be that big of a deal.
At the end of the day it’s just hair people. Relax!
